Acknowledgements

I previously expressed my thanks to my friends Motive Nuance for their support and proofing, but this doesn't begin to cover the scope of my indebtedness.
Similar thanks go to Cliff. Most teachers specialize in either things you already knew or things you never would have thought of. It's rare to find someone who can give you both.

In the online GHB community, I have found tremendous assistance, information, and encouragement from GMaster and The Anonymous Mr. P. I have repeatedly borne witness to the great gulf between research and practical experience, and every time I have wanted for the latter these two have shared theirs unstintingly.
I must also acknowledge the work of Chem-R-Us, local deity of alt.drugs.chemistry. Although he is frequently cruel, vulgar, and execrably jealous and petty, he Knows Stuff, and he shares it, and when every kitchen kemist who blows himself up makes it less likely the War On some Drugs will ever end, good, sober advice is not to be mocked.

I'd have never dared such a project without an example of the heights of scholarship and intelligence a lone mind could reach, even out on the fringes of polite society. He'd probably be horrified if you told him, but I owe my inspiration to William White and his unbelievable DXM FAQ. There's a real researcher.
     There's a real researcher.

Sincere thanks to the librarians. You deserve mad hugs that would make more than one observer wonder if my research was crossing the line to practice.

Somewhere in the Life Science Library at the University of Texas at Austin lives a typewriter in cowboy boots.
