The Temple of Xochi

The statue is of the Aztec deity Xochipilli found over 100 years ago near 
the volcano Popocatepetl in southern Mexico and was probably created 
about the end of the 14th century.  Xochipilli was the "Price of Flowers" 
and it is believed that the statue shows him undergoing a psychedelic 
experience.  The figure's base includes carvings of traditional sacred 
plants including a morning glory containing lysergic acid derivatives and 
a psilocybin-containing mushroom known only to grow on Popocatepetl.

The molecules over his head are representations of the major "psychedelic" 
substances (from left to right) DOB, THC, DMT, 5MeO-DMT, LSD, Mescaline, 
Psilocybin, MDA, 2C-D, Harmaline, MDMA, and Ketamine.
