An evening among friendsSan pedro and GHB Substances: GHB, Trichocereus I can't remember where I learned this preparation method, but I highly recommend it. Friday evening two friends and I cut, despined and skinned about 18 to 20 inches of San Pedro purchased at a nursery. We were very careful in the despining and peeling not to remove too much of the dark green layer directly beneath the waxy skin. We then cut the slimy flesh away from the center pith, and diced the flesh into cubes and discarded the pith. After the lengthy preparation, we placed the cubed cactus in the freezer to put the plant spirit to rest as we chatted about the next evenings adventures. My friend, J, had never experienced the cactus while T and I once journeyed with St. Peter. The next evening, we met at T's place out in the country to hold the rest of our ceremony. We placed the frozen cubes in a blender and covered them with water and some lemon juice. We then shared the green smoothie. I have heard it takes some time for the alkaloid to take effect, but with this method magic is felt within minutes. It takes about 20 minutes to drink 2-3 mugfuls of holy smoothie due to the bitter taste and the snot-like consistancy. J finished his portion first, having a stronger than normal stomach. He recently broke relations with his wife of about 6 years, and he was expecting a healing journey. T and I soon finished ours, and we all agreed we already felt altered. We then went outside to watch the sunset. Green and red seemed particularly bright as we looked at the grass and the sky. We then retired to the backyard and shared some hash. The stars began swirling in the sky, and some of us saw shooting stars. The swirling continued in our vision as well as our minds, and we were able to hear distant sounds perfectly, just like the events were happening right next to us. We all agreed this was super strange as we passed the hash pipe again. Silence and coversation alternated between us as we each commmuned with St. Pedro in our own ways. As the evening came to a close, J said he felt stronger as an individual and decided a break with his wife was definitely what was needed in his life. They are both beautiful people, but for some reason brought out the worst in each other. As we came closer to ordinary consciousness, GHB was shared between J and I. We all hugged, verbally professed our deep friendhip, and continued to discuss freely whatever came up in our minds. My wife came to pick me up, and T and J kept the evening going till the wee hours of Sunday morning. We all now cultivate the cactus, and will journey together many more times into the vegetable matrix of consciousness with San Pedro as our guide.
