Bizzaro World5x proves its power yet again Substances: Salvia divinorum Where to begin ... I will preface this anecdote by saying that I am an experienced user of many mind altering substances, some of these I have felt profoundly transported me to some place else. As "gone" as I have been over the years, nothing can compare to this experience with Salvia. For all those people that have reported no effects from smoking this stuff, try the extract and smoke it in big, quick hits ... I cannot imagine it not working. I spent the weekend with my brother-in-law, knowing the whole time the Salvia extract was waiting for me at home (it had arrived the day before I left). Being that I had used so many powerful hallucinogens in past years, and partly due to reports of people getting no effect from Salvia, I was not counting on much and preparing myself for a disappointment. Disappointed I was not. It was a profoundly bizarre experience that words cannot describe. Let there be no mistake, this is NOT like other drugs, not like any other hallucinogen I have ever used. My girlfriend and myself sat down with a large bowl of the Salvia extract, I, the more experienced consumer, went first. After one giant hit and holding and forcing it deeper and deeper into my lungs, I felt only slightly strange upon exhaling ... the second hit, big and held deeply again ... this time also an odd feeling, like I could keep holding this hit forever, then I had just one thought .. "I was wrong, this is going to be ......", then nothing everything just went away. As it slipped by I had the distinct sensation of a spiraling funnel closing down, like the leaves of a camera's shutter slowly closing, the aperture growing smaller until it all just went away. The time right after that thought is a void. People say to close your eyes, relax, etc ... I don't see how it is possible to do any of those. I just disappeared and can remember none of what happened in that short time frame. I was told by my girlfriend that I actually drooled at one point immediately after that second hit! I was also told that my eyes remained open the whole time which I find hard to believe. She describes a vacant, confused stare, perhaps fear in my eyes. As I emerged, or upon my "re-entry", as I called it right afterwards, I was completely confused and felt as though someone was waiting for me, that I was suppose to go somewhere but was still just sitting there. The door was to my back and I kept feeling that it was open and that someone was standing there waiting. (Afterwards, I could not believe I did not try to get up and leave, something that I felt I had tried to do.) In that initial "coming back from there" instance, I also felt watched, like I were some freak on display and that one or more people were observing me. I had a flash of extreme paranoia, coupled with my utter confusion. I think I said something like "where are we going?" and then "what's going on?" .. to which my girlfriend replied that I had just smoked salvia. Still nothing was real or making much sense, I had no recollection of even saying these things, they were told to me subsequently. I also asked how long I was away, how long I was just zoned out, and I was told about 2 or 3 minutes. I think I was trying to process that fact while still extremely confused and weird feeling. Nothing seemed to make sense and nothing seemed real. As I was able to speak better, to make sense of things, I just kept smiling and repeating over and over, "that was bizarre" ... "that was insane" ... "that was incredibly odd" ... "that was like nothing I have ever experienced" ... all these, repeatedly. I don't know how to describe the experience really, I know that what I have just said is inadequate. "Pulled away", "sucked backwards", "transported" ... these all come to mind but do not do justice to the experience. Many of the trip reports I have just reread since I smoked the Salvia (earlier today) have themes similar to what I felt. The word "vortex" is used a few times and is a word I used right afterward ... "roller coaster" and "cartoon" were characterizations my girlfriend used after her ride, these are mentioned in other reports as well. (The whole experience lasted about 20-30 minutes with a lingering, trippy feeling for hours afterward. The coma-like part lasted only a couple minutes though. About two hours later we smoked a second time. I did not blink out like the first time (i smoked less) but I did get a grip on the flavor of the high better. I felt like "ahh, so this is what happened before, I see what it's doing now". My girlfriend actually got a much greater effect the second time than the first, but she smoked more and held it longer than she did the first time. She was rather scared the first time, probably not helped by seeing my response, ... I, someone that normally takes the heaviest of highs in stride.) In closing, I will reiterate ... Salvia is powerful stuff. I didn't think I had many new mind fucking experiences left, nothing that I had not already done. This was something new, something bizarre, and, frankly, intense to the point of being almost scary. And this comes from someone, who I assure you, is usually well equipped for very heavy mind melts. Try the extract ... it is a bizarre experience, no other way to describe it ... bizarre indeed.
