Divorum

The Salvia Tribunal

Substances: Salvia divinorum

I recently had this experience with ~5x Salvia extract that I thought some of you might find resonance with.

"Divorum" - The Salvia Tribunal

Recently I had a very strange experience with Salvia divinorum extract. I loaded a glass pipe with a small amount of the extract, unsure as to the amount I should use. I lit some incense and sat contemplatively, preparing for the unknown. I smoked the material in a single hit, and felt a very slight "alteration" - a somewhat speedy and turbulent energy began enveloping my being.. I remember thinking something, and actually feeling the thought get "sucked" out of my head. I quickly loaded more into the pipe and took a few more deep tokes. I felt a stream of energy flow forward through my body, and I felt as though this stream was actually lifting me up. I became aware of a shape of what looked like a female body in the wood grain on my bedroom door. The stream slowed, and and within a minute or so I felt pretty much down, although still slightly 'stoned'. These effects were very profound, but something told me that what I had just felt was only the tip of the Salvia iceberg. I decided to wait about 15 minutes and try again with a bong.

This time I loaded a generous portion of the extract into the bong bowl. I went into my bedroom and sat on my bed- this time my wife was present. I sat briefly to focus myself and commenced smoking the bong. I took a total of two large hits. I felt a tall, female entity put her hand on my shoulder and grip very firmly, and physically pull me backwards. I then became aware of the presence of a number of these strange entities, they seemed to be surrounding me in a circle or semicircle. I remember hearing phrases spoken sharply in some language unknown to me. There was a very stern and solemn attitude- there was something immensly important that I was to learn here. These beings wanted me to be absolutely clear about something: I think it was their name. I felt as if I had been abducted by very tall, very advanced aliens- they were chanting something repeatedly but I could not quite understand what it was, although I got the impression it was very important. I know this sounds fucking crazy, but it sounded like "Divorum", and/or "Divinorum - Salvia divinorum". There was an almost scary feeling of deja vu- I had been in this place many times before. (I have smoked Salvia on one previous occasion, with only threshold effects). These beings demanded an acknowledgement. Did I understand what they were telling me? I was terrified- I felt as if I were being interrogated by a panel of superior life forms. God, yes, yes, I understood- although I don't anymore. I began chanting over and over again: "Divinorum- Salvia divinorum"... During this time, I felt a sharp pain shoot down the underside of both of my lower arms, along the vein. I felt as if something were trying to cut me in half. My wife says I was looking down at my arms and holding them, and that during this time I was completely pale. After looking in the dictionary, I see that there is no English word "Divorum"... It sounds like it might be a Latin word. Anyone on this list know how to speak Latin?

^^^I have already posted this report to another list, and have been informed the following:

>"divinus", male substantive = prophet, prescient, one who can foresee the
>future (e.g.:
>Maria Sabina?);
>"divinum", neuter substantive = the Holy, Divine; and also: religious
>sacrifice; divination;
>prophecy;
>"divinorum" = plural genitive,
>
>so those who gave its scientific (latin name) to this plant were referring
>to its use in a
>ceremonial, religious context.
>
>More:
>
>"divi", male plural substantive = "the gods"
>"divorum" = plural genitive = "of the gods"
>
>Maybe those beings wanted you to know that they are (or they think to be,
>ehehehe)
>the Gods.

I believe that part of the message the spirit was trying to make very clear was that Salvia is truly divine - "of the gods", and must be approached with care and respect...

My recollection of what happened next is vague at best. I consulted my wife, and she says that I got up and was walking around saying such things as "How do I make it stop", etc.. I remember looking at my wife and thinking that she, too, was one of these Salvia beings. I felt myself gradually phase back into "normal" consciousness- and I realized that my wife was indeed human. I asked her "What happened to me?" She replied "You smoked some Salvia". I then said "I know- what happened to me??"- I hoped that she could explain what had just happened, because I was stumped.

My wife smoked some of the extract after I, and she too experienced the feeling of being surrounded by tall, chanting beings. As I sit here writing this, I am still fairly disturbed by how very, very "real" these beings and their message were. The message that this group of entities was trying to deliver had a definite sense of urgency and "reality" about it. In retrospect, the feeling of being 'interrogated' by these lifeforms reminds me of the scene in "Beneath the Planet of the Apes" where the mere human is inquisitioned by the panel of super-evolved humans. I do not understand what any of this could possibly mean - I am at a total loss. In all of my entheogenic encounters I have never experienced anything remotely like this. Perhaps experimenting with this plant sublingually will help shed some light on the mystery of the Salvia Tribunal.

I got the impression that Salvia prefers to be taken orally, so next time I am going to use this method. Overall, I am still in awe of how directly the salvia spirits approached and communicated with me. They literally spoke to me. In retrospect, I don't see how their message could have been any more clear. I must also note that it felt like these spirits seemed to occupy the same realm of spacetime as us, it's just that normally they are just beyond the horizon of our perception- slightly 'out of phase' with us physical beings.
