Definite Thumbs-Up

Nice effects with a clear head

Substances: 2C-B

I found this scrawled on a piece of paper I found in a drawer in a used desk I bought recently.

"This was my fourth experience with 2c-b, my girlfriend, B.'s, second. It was the highest dose I had taken yet, 22.5 mg. B. had appx. 20 mg. I ate the leftover ~2.5 mg after about 90 minutes. We had eaten five hours before ingestion.

"The transition was somewhat uncomfortable for me. There was a relatively intense energy flow through my body which made it a little difficult to get comfortable laying, sitting or standing. B. ate the 2c-b with a headache, which despite some acetaminophan (Tylenol) refused to disappear for a while; the headache developed into nausea at appx. the 30 min. point, which remained mild for about 45 minutes before disappearing. She found the first hour to be quite uncomfortable, more so than I. After about an hour, I began to notice some leg tremors and twitches, which B. also reported. She also later noticed some "falling asleep" feelings in her legs. I began to feel a pretty intense physical energy in my body, centered in my chest. As this gradually decreased, the more mental effects made themselves apparent. My mind remained very clear during all of this; B. on the other hand began to have strong emotional memories of a deceased friend of the family and began crying a bit.

"Normally, experiencing a loved one crying while on a psychedelic would make me worry a lot, and I would be rather stressed. But the 2c-b allowed to me to look quite objectively at the situation and I did not panic. I stroked B.'s hair and felt confident that she would be okay. I had turned on the oven to heat my apartment and some crumbs had burnt a little. This smell had apparently suddenly reminded B. of her home and her deceased friend. Maybe 'reminded' is the wrong word; she really felt transported back several years (with eyes closed).

"This episode did, indeed, clear up. We both began to enjoy ourselves much more. I was listening to the music (Bach preludes and fugues played by Glenn Gould) and was watching eidetic images, which I found more elusive than with LSD or psilocybin. However, with the latter two compunds I always got a little freaked and chickened out when I closed my eyes, as it seemed to increase the intensity of the trip tenfold as I became disconnected from my physical environment. With the beez, however, I felt completely safe and merely interested in what was behind my eyelids. Another thing which kept me from opening my eyes much was some nystagmus. The central nervous stimulation was pretty intense and reminiscent of MDMA, though there was absolutely no anorexic effect. (We ate a hearty meal 4 hours after ingestion.)

"The eyes-open visuals were similar to those with psilocybin, but did not seem to interest me as much -- the dark kept them to a minimum anyway. I had a pronounced diuretic effect and noticed some very colorful visuals in the (brightly lit) bathroom during the plateau. Very colorful, pretty trails were noted by both of us.

"Both of us noticed a sensuality reminiscent of MDMA during the plateau, though neither of us felt like initializing sexual activity. There was considerable synesthesia: as B. caressed my stomach with her hands, I saw kaleidoscopic patterns of leaves which became serrated when she separated her fingers; I saw bright flashes of yellow light when I laughed; and sometimes changes in the music would induce changes of colors and patterns. (This all refers to eyes-closed imagery.) Again, the imagery was not as clear or bright as with either LSD or psilocybin, predominated by dark colors. I intend to experiment with the addition of THC during the plateau to synergize these visuals, as I found them to be very interesting and beautiful, though usually only two-dimensional, unlike with psilocybin (for me). I think it would be possible to induce 3-d imagery by the addition of THC.

"I would also like to experiment with larger doses (25mg & up), but I think it might help to ingest the total dose over 20 or 30 minutes to reduce physical discomfort. The music had a peculiar three-dimensional quality to it: I was not able to identify the highs and lows as readily as normal, which made me hear in a slightly less organized way, an intriguing effect.

"Overall, the experience (other than in the first hour) was characterized by a mild euphoria and medium intensity, with a remarkably clear head. Thoughts do not tend to "cycle" or "multiply on themselves" like with psilocybin or LSD, which makes it very gentle and easy to control. I am still getting used to the short duration and plan to experiment with supplements to extend the plateau. Definite thumbs-up!"
