Faint Yellow Haze

More failures..

Substances: Salvia divinorum

Okay, this is more like an UN-trip report.

The first time that I tried Salvia divinorum, I merely smoked a bowl of it out of my "proto-pipe." It gave me a high very similar to Cannabis. In fact, at the time, I was quite enthused about Sadi being a legal Cannabis substitute (since it was *the most* like Cannabis of anything that I had smoked).

The second time I smoked Sadi, it was in a bong (I heard that this was more effective). I took a number of large hits, and sat back. With my eyes open nothing happened. With my eyes closed there was a faint yellow haze. Nothing else.

The third time I smoked Sadi, I was reclining on my bed. I took a couple of really big hits, closed my eyes and sat back. I tried to see the faint yellow haze, but even it wasn't there. I had been told that you have to remain very still-especially your head-which I did. Nothing, except that for about 15-20 minutes I felt kind of "spaced out" and had a slight headache.

Last night I took Sadi in the form of a tincture which is absorbed through the mucous membranes by holding it in your mouth for a specific period of time. I purchased the tincture from the company in Germany advertised in the latest Entheogen Review. I followed the specific instructions on how to take the Sadi. I had been smoking some Cannabis and drinking some beers prior to this experiment. I was laying in bed, in darkness and quite. There were no visual effects. Mentally, I did have a memory of a time in my youth (perhaps I was in sixth grade) that I went to a camp-"Sly Park" (I think this was the name)-in the mountains when it was snowing. I had not though of this camp for years, so it is unusual that I had this memory (but this could have been caused by the Cannabis). Basically, even though I was trying to notice anything unusual, I would be hard pressed to say that I had any concrete effects. Apparently the tincture doesn't work for about 20% of those who try it. Also, I have heard that Sadi doesn't have any effect on some people on their first few tries. I'd hate to think that I am one of the 20%. I guess that I will have to try again. I have heard that Cannabis acts synergistically with Sadi. I have also heard that it can cause Sadi to be inactive.
