GHB-relatedChemicals which are structurally similar to GHB and GBL Misuse of GHB, GBL, and similar drugs can
be deadly!
If you use GHB-type drugs, we strongly urge you to observe the following safety
precautions.
- Never combine with alcohol or other CNS depressants. This
combination has been deadly to a number of people.
- Seek medical attention for anyone who passes out from a GHB-type drug unless you can
positively verify they are not under the influence of other drugs as
described above.
- Never use "liquid" GHB unless you know the concentration, as it varies
according to preparation. An overdose can cause anything from unrousable sleep (most commonly) to death (at least 50 confirmed from GHB alone), and the
steep dose-response curve exacerbates the problem.
- Unlike cannabis and psychedelics, and like alcohol, nicotine, and heroin,
Use of GHB-type drugs can be physically addictive. We have
received multiple reports from individuals who have experienced severe
withdrawal symptoms when trying to abstain from GHB use. These individuals
reported using GHB several times a day (practically continuously) for
extended periods of time.
When in doubt, DON'T USE GHB! Likewise for
all other drugs as well. This warning is not here to separate GHB from
other drugs; the same level of careful behavior is advisable at all
times, for any drug.

Used industrially; Indirectly metabolized into GHB - 4-methyl-GHB (4-Hydroxyvalerate)
Sodium 4-Hydroxyvalerate - Butyrate (n-butyric acid)
Structural basis for a wide class of molecules - GABA (g-aminobutyric acid)
Metabolite of ghb and neurotransmitter. - GBL (g-butyrolactone)
Chemical and metabolic precursor to GHB - GHB (g-hydroxybutyrate)
Sedative closely related in structure to GABA. Now a schedule I substance in the USA. - GHB-aldehyde (g-hydroxybutyraldehyde)
