PMA

Paramethoxyamphetamine, 4-MA, 4-methoxyamphetamine, C10H15NO (mol. wt. 165.23)

4-MA_2D_Structure

A strong stimulant, toxic, sometimes found in or represented as ecstasy

PIHKAL #97

"PMA (Para-methoxy-amphetamine, 4-MA), a powerful stimulant that is cheaper and easier to manufacture than ecstasy and far more dangerous, continues to show up among pills being sold as ecstasy. Many of these pills are stamped with a three-diamond Mitsubishi logo. Last week in central Florida, three young people died after ingesting tablets they thought contained ecstasy, but actually contained PMA. In the Spring of this year, three young people died in Chicago after ingesting PMA, and it has been responsible for six deaths in Australia and many more in Europe and England."
