Most fruiting chambers have a piece of glass/plexiglass/plastic wrap at a slant between the lid and the substrate to prevent water droplets from damaging the mycelium.  So I decided to lid bands under two of the corners so that the lid(and the whole chamber) was at a slight slant.  It was mostly working, but some drops continued to drop down from the lid instead of sliding to one side.  So I got an ideal from when I played paintball; I mixed some tear-free baby shampoo with distilled water at ~1:10, I didn't actually measure it.  Using a paper towel that I wetted with this solution I wiped down the underside of the glass lid.  It works perfectly now and very little water actually forms droplets on the lid now.  That no-fog trick for googles works great for the fruiting chamber, I am gonna try it on the inside of my windshield next;)

my fruiting chamer is a tub with a zillion small holes drilled on four sides but not the top or  bottom. the bottom is filled to a height of four inches with perlite which is soaked in DH20. The moisture floating up from the perlite raises humidity to 100 percent or higher but is regulated by the zillion holes. Mine hovers right at 98 percent humidity all the time and no drips or drops form on the sides or lid.

even at this time of year I can keep the chamber temp at 80 degrees by setting it on a cheap heating pad on the second lowest setting.

Are you working in a legit lab or something?  Don't those little fucking flys/gnats get through those holes?  Or am I missing something?

Those flys have caused me problems when they get in my chamber while I have it open to work in.  They never actually totally ruin my work but they do contaminate it which I am sure reduces net yield.

like a glacier - slow but certain grin

why does the usually upright image show up here rotated?

anyway, as promised it's nothing more than a well perforated tub with a perforated cover, perlite, a humidity reader, and some junk left over from the last fruiting.  the heating pad and cover are there for a little extra warmth in th winter.

simple, yes?  works every time.

had some bad timing on the last batch and several caps threw their spores, that's all the dark crap in the tub

yes, though I've not seen one near my operation in a dozen iterations.

I run a hydroponic garden patch in the basement and get a batch of some kind of fly every fall when I bring the cactus in. They die off after a couple hatches but they're the only insects I've seen in the house.

Yea the ones with the plexiglass at a tilt I refer to as a terrarium and the rest are FC's. (If you use proper technique you really don't need that thing. Just wipe the shit off so it doesn't drip on the shrooms, and that is only if there is a LOT of moisture on there.) The one you have pictured there is what you would call a "shotgun" FC. They are nice for airflow, a little rough on the humidity side, but work well if you use them right. Love what you did with the FC though. That was creative.
