I found these two things fit togeather nicely  Atleast when I was younger and had the energy to dance all night tripping balls.

I took my first trip at a dance party, and my first, 5 or so trips, were all taken at a dance party.

A dance party used to be a reason to take a trip, soon enough anything was a good enough reason to take a trip.

I think it is the synergy of the dancers that does it more than anything else, but add to that music so loud so insistant that paranoid thoughts are hard too hear. A beat so repetative it entrances you in its spell, holding you powerless to do anything other than dance and smile.

You are at once anonymous, but also part of the group love vibe that permeates most dance parties. You can be who ever you wanna be and do what ever you wanna do, as long as it is real and loving.

Man I would go to 3 a week, even put them on, in my flat, which could hold 800 odd. An awesome place to start your psychedelic explorations.

I found these two things near extinction on my part of the planet as I came of age, the area hub being thoroughly raided dry and closed,  so with no dance party as a reason to take a trip, there is still every reason not to; seems like i missed out of some good times and  i still look forward to dancing all night one day

I can't handle doing LSD at dance parties anymore. I just feel really socially awkward, and out of place. Most everyone else is high on pressed pills or coke, or drinking... I guess there's not too much of a psychedelic vibe at most of the parties in my area. Woodrose seeds are very nice for dancing, though. Very energizing, but not overstimulating or strongly dehydrating like MDMA. More in the body, and less in the mind than LSD.

I think the secret, if you can call it one, is focus that acid energy on the music, not on the pretty bodies all around . . . most people are so damned self-conscious that they're looking around at others looking at them too Smiley Not saying this is easy, but changing your focus while tripping is something that can help in many situations, not just dancing, and open up some new experiences . . Ken Kesey told the Merry Pranksters to "learn to steer" and that seems good advice still Smiley and it really helps if you like the music too!

Its not just that I'm self concious, it's just I spent a good ten years dancing all over the place, was a D.J., promoter as well. But I'm constantly evolving on my own trip, and it has taken me past the homo gestalt (as kesey called it) group orgasm that is a dance party, and on to a whole new individual soul trip, I'm way too deep into my own head to ever be in a public event, like a dance party, the pretty bodies
I don't notice, because I have one myself.

I HEAR THAT! Never had the chance myself. Northerners are too heavy on the drink and stimulants, no room for a psychedelic vibe, even at the most psychedelic conventions. Crap! I often get annoyed at the remnants of the 90s who're listening to the same music they did back then and doing the same shit they've always been doing, and criticising anything new, but I understand why they are stuck. It must have been a fantastic time to be alive!

One day I'll move from here. Maybe Berlin can meet my requirements? Or Paris? Where oh where do I go?

There will one hundred percent be a psychedelic/techno community near you, you don't have to live near Tokyo or Berlin, though that would help. Just take alook on lamposts as you walk a city street there will be posters, take yourself and a bag of weed and look people in the eye and smile, before you know it you are necking mushrooms and E and dancing till dawn. if thats what your into doing, Im so over it, been ther done that, but it is a amazing time for anyone new to the experience, and I recommend all give it a go for a couple years .
