I actually rather think those things are spiritually and psychologically toxic, but you know, different strokes.

I agree with psilo, the only use I think they would have is trading them for shrooms.

Tech, are you more prone towards anxiety? I remember not getting any effect off any anxiolytics until I started developing anxiety later on in my teens...

I think in the current state that I am in that benzos help dull the effects of the "noise" and help me focus on myself. I taper down without a hitch and it's fun to start all over again and get real fucked up. I love scripts. Seems the longer I am in the medical field the more willing people are to just write it out. The price on the other hand is the problem.

Anxiety is a state of mind. States of mind can be altered by meditation and relaxation.

Shrooms are not "Other Substances" if I am not mistaken.

opiates.

Opiates are great and all but illegal(unless you can get a crooked doc. to scribe them). Then comes the side effects... constipation! I would like to add that benzo withdrawal is so much nicer than the opiate withdrawal. Opiates are a fun recreational drug sometimes but long term and short term benzo ftw.

Are you fucking crazy? Benzo withdrawal can kill a person.

I'd have to say the best downers in order are
G
Benzos
Opiates
Ethanol
But thats just me.

Benzo withdrawal can be dagerous (seizures) and can lead to permanent damage, whereas opiate withdrawal just feels really shit for long.

Opiate addicts tend to exhibit renal failure though, and I have a feeling it has to do with the withdrawal--not being able to retain any water within the body and constantly vomiting or pissing or shitting it out.

I'd rather be sick from opiates then benzos any day.  Any day!  At least with opiates you know you will get through it eventually.

Benzo withdrawls create such an anxiety that it feels my life will never be the same, ever again.  It's harder for me, psychologically, to get through.

Wow never really had a problem. I can taper down from benzos any day sorry to hear that dpp. Seems it's a personal preference. Mind you I come from a family that has farmed opium for years in Iran and love opiates but benzos rule because I can be lit and go to work school anything w/o concerns of blood tests and all. I don't really take them for anxiety anymore just a great recreational drug that the fda can't control.

Btw hello dpp long time no speak lol. Us old fogies seem to be lurking in the dark much of the time  smiley

Benzo withdrawal death... I will let the experts speak on this, but I imagine its from not tapering down. I would like to scratch ethanol from that list but yeah I would agree those are the best downers by far.

Goddamnit I hate agreeing with ST1R! angry

Hah.

I used to be fine with benzos, I could do a week on and a few weeks off without issue.  But the older I get, the harder it is getting to take those few weeks completely off..

My brother has been using klonopin, 1mg 2x or 3x a day for about 3 years.  He hasn't had a drink in years because he would black out, due to the meds.

He was told he would need about 6 months to a year to quit them completely.  His last year has been a rough one for him, needless to say.  All that misery, just so he can drink a little scotch.  rolleyes

Needless to say, I like to either stay away from benzos, or just go completely fucking nuts for a week and forget everything.  A little bit every day bites me in the ass every damn time.

Im prescribed kolonopin and it helps alot with panic anxiety and some with social anxiety, i dont really ever get high off it but if i don't take it for a few days and then take it
i just get super chilled out. As far as downers are conserned I would say opiates hands down but to me there not really a downer untill I get to noddin, otherwise
I get wired and I can work hard labor jobs all day without breaks.. I just started taking clonidine for my ritalin come downs and it works pretty good for that panicy physical feelings like heart beating fast and breathing hard.

Someone bumped a thread recently where you were contemplating joining the army - I'm praying right now that you didn't get in.
I'm praying that people like you aren't being given an automatic weapon and sent off to somewhere to represent the country in which I live.
But I know that they are.
Shit.

Hmm... What in the name of Marduk does this have to do with my topic. I only say that because you are not only rude but if you have a problem with someone please keep it in the p.m. system. I am no pill bot MTV baby and I assure you benzodiazepines have nothing to do with them. Noman usually you are a pretty cool cat but this post is shit.

cheesy I was the same way. My friends would be vegging on the couch after eating like 5mg of hydro complaining of "couchlock" and being "op'd out" where if I was anything but nodding I be working. I never even intended to, I'd go to take a piss and next thing I know I've re-grouted the shower. cheesy Of course with even a small amount of most any stimulant I get couch lock and zone out. Go figure cheesy

You didn't offend me as much as you upset me. I know you weren't talking to me but this post saddens me. I say don't feed the troll, rather than construe some angry thought to them. You are wise and one of the respected ones in my book(I still hate you ST1R and U).

Back to the topic I have found that the up and down of benzos far surpasses opiate up and down. I have been doing my own experimentation with good opium and obviously good Temazepam. I came to the conclusion that the score is benzo 1 opiate 0. I can get good O believe me when I say this.

Weed doesn't work for paraprofessionals who have to take piss tests weed is no good. Anyway weed makes me sort of bipolar because of my long term use. I don't know if it's just me or it works that way but when I get to regular smoking again I have major ups and downs. Benzos are where it's at as far as I am concerned.

Nah man too hard and expensive to come by.
$10 for 60x1mg pills of clonazepam & $10 for 30x30mg pills of temazapam you do the math.

Some of those JWHs are cheaper than dirt but if ya don't like pot effects the JWH's are prolly out and yeah the qualones and barbs can be pretty pricey.

It would be interesting to see if JWH's act the same as weed. Weed can have so many other substances that may cause the side effects that JWH doesn't hmmm.
