I remember reading that plants, animals, and fungi used to grow to such gigantic sizes because there was a lot more O2 available.  If one were to use an electrolysis system inside of the fruiting chamber(venting the hydrogen outside of course) do you all think it would grow bigger shrooms, limited by the volume of the colonized substrate of course.

How would you seperate the hydrogen? Wouldn't it be easier and more efficient to use commercially available tanked oxygen?

Have you done the calculations on how much this would cost?

I was thinking that the electrode for the hydrogen would be in a tube the just vented it out of the fruiting chamber and not generating the O2 in a tube at all just have it open to the fruiting chamber.  I haven't done the calculations for cost, and I doubt I actually try this unless I find myself with a fair bit more free time.  Was just an ideal I had watching some documentary about dinosaurs and such on history channel I think.

Well, it's never done because it is so fucking expensive.
