Well, you did do this for us late on a Saturday evening. Wait until later today after everyone wakes up and shakes off their hangover or get's into work on Monday to see a spike.

Hey Pk, do we have an "Upcoming Events" option on here, too?

No rush at all, just curious. I'm mainly interested as it was another avenue for humor and forum-wide inside jokes. And I'm sure it would be useful for legitimate purposes, as well.

Thanks again for both HI and the Lyc. Smiley.

hi guys.

oh neat I'm not an admin anymore.  yay!  as far as a mod purge goes, I'm not sure how y'all were thinking of deciding who goes and who stays but I'm willing to turn in my badge voluntarily if only to make the process less painful for those wanting to actually keep their privileges.

doubt anyone is waiting for anything, you could smell it coming from half a galaxy away.

the moderators should submit essays to be considered for the position applied for in my opinion.

we will see what happens i guess.

I like the essay idea, but how would that work out? Where would we submit them?

I suppose that we could make a new topic in the essay forum, but I'd like to see them submitted privately without us being able to see each others'. Would the admins vote on them, then?

If we want the job still, does that mean we are to choose what forums we'd like to be on?

Private yes, to admins yes.

I was also thinking of a usergroup restructuring. There are way too many and its a permissions nightmare.

Moderators may be, stress may be site wide but not sure yet. Would solve many issues.

Hmmm, interesting.

(No pm's so hope this is okay in public)

An aside:  As far as these notes being private, I am okay with this.  I would like the opportunity to "nominate" a few certain folks, or to at least give opinions towards others.  smiley

For instance, I just recently passed over my duties of VC Mod over to u.  I thought he has always done well in these subjects, as well as has White Rabbit, with whom I modded VC for about 3 years.

Point is, I have good things to say about certain folks, and would like to be taken into consideration.

Also a point:  I kicked over my mod duties while knowing I'd still have access to mod forum, and knowing I could still participate in site matters.  I'd still like to be able to do this if allowed, but I understand I'd still need to be actively modding an area.

Since VC is so well covered imo, I think I'd fit well into maybe P&L if you need me there.  I've got a little piece of my soul into that forum.  smiley

Not only I feel this way:  This place is VERY important in many ways to MANY of us

So I say it, THANK YOU to those who brought us back!

Just so anyone knows, I will be my same ol' happy self even without any certain title.  But, certain priv's I like being able to use.

In fact, a Mr. Prolix "promoted" me to that title.  I forget why, but it was groovin'.

I understand if it needs to go though, of course!  smiley

Well shit. Just when I gave up on having a life and registered at the other place, this place springs back up, assuring me that I am to have no life.
Bog help me, I'm posting like trilo - I'll start taping the tinfoil over the windows tomorrow.
I kid - I kid because I love....
(uncomfortable silence - cough cough)
So what are we going to do now with two forums that nobody posts in?
I don't understand the differentiation.
I think mod status should be up for a vote to all Lycaeum members.
Everybody with a certain number of posts is eligible - that number being open to debate, say 500, or whatever chops it down to a reasonable number
with veto power given to pk (who has earned his godlike status), his chosen admin (if He so chooses), and the nominee.
Nominees could be asked to write their essay then, everybody votes and we sort it out from there.
Just my two cents.
My hat is out of the ring regardless.
But everybody should listen to this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DBWMZ502
as often as possible
at as loud a volume as possible.
Edit:
For those of y'all needing words to hold the attention span:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OFACO4Q8
"But I feel like I could rape a nun...
and it's always the first kiss
that gets you drunk."
Yes - quasi-covered by Fetus backed up by the Melvins.
Maybe I'll just devote my time here to disseminating decent (by that I mean non-commercial radio friendly) music to the masses.
Because DM(censored) for the Masses was an even split between a disaster and a fart with a knot in it.

Woah! Awesome post!  I'm grabbin' the music, and also wanna say:  The Masses (the people) can still be good, they just gotta get 'round to it.  smiley  Also, if they (The Masses) haven't yet extracted, they just gotta get 'round too that too.  In time!

The Lycaeum exists to foster the free exchange of information on a subject that is taboo in today's world. However, there are limits to what we can discuss. No person shall post anything which discusses ongoing or future illegal activity, or which can be construed as discussing ongoing or future illegal activity. A simple guideline for appropriate posts is to always keep them impersonal and timeless. Posts which can be construed as indicating that a particular person, even if anonymous, is engaged in illegal activity will be deleted and the offending member removed. Public trading or discussion of commercial suppliers is forbidden in all forums. Do NOT ask about suppliers for any substance, legal or not. Keep posts on topic or they will be deleted. *HINT: A post regarding amphetamines within Visionary Chemicals is not on topic.
