After reading the Dramamine FAQ about delusionary experiences and the like, I thought it might be fun to try it in combination with Dextromethorphan (DXM). I wasn't interested in scary downright uncomfortable experiences, so I thought DXM would be a perfect mediator in that it would potentiate each other and increase the amount of Opened Eye Visuals (OEV).
Experiences to date : LSD, DXM+GHB (that's something else to write about!), DXM+pot, DXM+GHB+Pot, DXM+E (No GOOD!), pot+GHB (nice).
I decided to try 300mg DXM via Robitussin DM (which from previous experience puts me solidly into plateau 3 during peak experience, and follow it up half an hour later with 4 dramamine (50 mg dimenhydrinate each), and increase the dramamine dosage if nothing happened.
I started well rested at 9 pm in the evening, endured the familiar revolting experience of ingesting 100ml of Robitussin. After half an hour, I was starting to feel light-headed and mildly nauseous with my eyes open and I decided that it was time to take the dramamine and close my eyes.
By 10 pm, nothing much had happened, so I decided to take 1 more dramamine at half-hour intervals.
Here is a transcript of notes I kept, with supplementary material in square brackets :
11.15 pm
Eyes open. Can see pattern right on wall of aircon [this is the wall where the air-conditioner is attached], and it look like its always been there. Can't tell pattern on aircon wall is not real. [this was a mosiacof swirling cthugha-like dots in red and green on the wall].
[At this time, the perspective of my view of the air-con was also distorted, and it looked like it was grinning at me]
Move very close and it disappears leaving green patterns.
11.15 pm
300mg DM
6 DR[amamine]
11.16 +1 DR[amamine]
[I decided to put on Doof's album "Let's Turn On" at this time].
From bed. Red and green dots. But nothing else affected. Maybe music has spraying sound? [I think I was having auditory delusions as there seemed to be the sound of a spray bottle being sprayed in time with the cymbals, but the sound was distinct from the cymbals].
Like Cthugha on the wall!
Walls are "breathing".
11.30 - 1 DR[amamine] - call M____ [called at friend to tell them about the funky visuals I was getting, and she confirmed that I had a conversation with her the next day].

- Vision is jerky and lagged (the lagging is like DXM lag, where if you throw a ball, you see it go up and down after you've caught the ball).
- Like compter glitch in 3D rendering [those of you who've played 3D games with not-so-fast machines will know the kind of skipping I mean].
Ceiling has changed fractal-like morphing. Circular motion patterns - V. jerky.
11.40 All walls breathing and have patterns. Saw shadow hand bits and pieces (fractals) go upwards. Cool.

[At this point, everything looked dithered from a colour palette with very obvious dithering. The "shadow hand" refers to me examining my left arm and hand, as I was wondering if it would exhibit the same acid-like patterns crawling on the skin. However, an astonishing thing happened. My arm and hand suddenly became two dimensional and totally pitch black, and little starry crawling dots started swirling round and round in the the space that used to be my arm and hand, it was as if my hand had turned into the night sky and the stars were flying around crazily].
cannot think straight or hold long thoughts. No connection to long term memory.
[I was perfectly capable of thinking, but I couldn't remember what I'd just thought 5 seconds later].
Aircon objects - let go then suck in - fractal/pixelated objects.

splits one object into two and you see two objects instead - eg when
looking at a lamp].

Transcript ends at this point. However, there are several disturbing things to note :
Firstly, I cannot remember the Earthworm Jim episode consciously, even though I wrote it down. Secondly, I can only remember having taken 8 dramamine, and my notes confirm this, however, when I got up the next morning, all ten dramamine were gone, so I must obviously have ingested it at some point. Thirdly, I have no recollection of what happened after ingesting the last two dramamine. I thought I went to sleep. However, I do remember "waking up" and that my sleep was very interrupted, but I cannot remember what I saw or did. Forthly, I remember changing the CD to Man with No Name's 'Teleport/Sugar Rush' single but cannot remember what happened after that.
However, there is a positive side effect to taking dramamine with DXM - it virtually eliminates all nausea and it seems to potentiate DXM so I had a very strong 3rd plateau DXM trip going on at the same time. All I had to do was close my eyes and I was flying in "D-space".
I strongly suspect that as Dramamine is an anticholinergic drug, it somehow interferes with the transfer of memories from short term storage to long term storage, and that was how my memory was "lost". Who knows what kind of delusionary experiences I may have experienced?
The entire experience while on dramamine was such that it made me feel very sleepy, but the body was somehow always uncomfortable so I was unable to sleep until about 3 am. But as I said, I cannot remember 12 am to 3am.
If I ever try this combination again, I'm going to give myself 6 dramamine, and hide the rest away. Hopefully, I will be able to remember more of the experience. I will also keep a stimulant like caffeine, ephedrine or guarana around so I will be able to stay awake better. I hear that smoking (nicotine) is also helpful in this respect.
