RE: Mimosa extraction?
I have access to mimosa pigra. The Africans use it as a snuff acording to "ars-grin". I reckon thay use the seeds for 5meo. The lateral roots when seperated from the earth leaves an orange-brown stain. A thick black rootmat forms just below the waterlevel of the wet season floods this also leaves an orange stain. This mat goes red when boiled (ph4) and black again when left for a while cool. It leaves a pale bugandy tea.
METHOD.
I got 2kg of rootmat(ph5.5) and placed under water added sulfuric acid to ph4 and simmered for 24hrs, filtered and washed again for 12hrs. Then on heat under a fan I reduced the volume by 2/3rds. I plan to delipid using lighter fluid and acid/base partition using dichloromethane and sodium hydroxide. I am unsure of my method. Would I loose product by reducing over heat? Can you steam distill DMT?. I plan on grinding up some seed mixing with about 30% bone and roasting until its ash and haveing a snort.
Could I resonably hope for anything other than destroyed nasal passages? If anyone could help with any relevant information it would be greatly appreciated as I am fearful of wasting much labour and I anticipate success and don't want to stuff it.
thanx
Alan.

RE: Mimosa extraction?
Abloke, This was a very interesting post. Suprised that you've recieved no responses. I'm standing by as well to hear a confirmation of your extraction approach. Or has orange-experience left you waxy-tounge tied?;> ))
