The UPS hazard surcharge is like 20$ per package though! (Maybe these folks just disguise it, but if you go through a "reputable" chem place, they'll hit you with it). I found some locally for less than 200$ fora 55 gal drum, but I highly doubt it is even reagant grade. Given its low boiling point, it would probably be easy to purify, but no thanx.

Looks like they mostly sell fireworks materials. The would explain the hazard shipping surchange. There are plenty of other chem suppliers on the net that cater to a more general audience.

Woops, maybe I wasn't clear... DCM is considered by UPS to be hazardous. ANYONE shipping it by UPS is charged a fee.(same with NaOH,any acid above 1N, pet.ether,etc.)

Bacchus is correct, in that ANY Net-source you buy it from is gonna hit you with that HazMat shipping charge, regardless of who they cater to... So it all comes down to the cost of the DCM... When you factor in that HazMat charge, it is probably cheaper to just get the stuff OTC from a local chem house. But if you insist on mail-ordering it, the supplier I listed is the best I've seen so far. At least in terms of price...

Why are people so reluctant to visit their local chem supply house? DCM IS NOT ILLEGAL! If they ask you to sign something, don't do it if it offends your morals or something, but if you get on a list somewhere who cares? It isn't like you are making crank or something.

First, not everyone has a chem supply house near them. Second, DCM may not be illegal but extracting DMT is. On the off chance that the cops do come knocking on your door, who knows what will happen. Will you just be some harmless guy messing around with roots and twigs and quietly get off on probation? Or will you be the evil drug dealer manufacturing the new plague DMT that's gonna be worse than crack and heroin put together and get locked up in a cage with Bubba your horny cellmate for several years?
Its probably not likely that you'll ever get busted for extracting DMT, but a little paranoia isn't a bad thing when your freedom's at stake.
