Marley sent me these buds, so I asked him for some details:
>> What strain are they?
Stabilized hybrid: Parents are from Colombia (Pure Sativa) and Holland (Skunk#1)
(Well almost stabilized.....it produces about 85% uniformity (12th generation now and still working on it) Breeding true pollination
>> What age?
15 weeks old (1 week before harvest) size about 6 feet
>> How was the picture taken?
With a normal 35mm (Minolta 7000) camera then scanned with microtek flatbed
scanner
>> What's the significance of the two plants?
Both pictures are from the same strain.
Sativa produces on average smaller buds, but a much
clearer high (BTW not much visible raisin, but as you probably know this
has nothing to do with the potency). Fresh Colombian buds have almost no
smell unless you rub your fingers over it. The skunk#1 produces bigger buds
with lots of raisin, but has a somewhat strong smoke that not everybody can
handle and of course a very strong odor (which I love personally, but it is
not very suitable for drying/growing indoors if you have an office at home)
I have managed to fixate the following qualities in this strain:
From the Skunk:
Bud size and raisin
Early maturation
From the Colombian (which originated from Cartagena):
Size and growing speed (increased yield)
Clear high
Low on odors when drying
Soft smoke when properly cured
Potency did increase a lot (but this is difficult to messure, so I'm just
testing it on some good friends of me who are experienced smokers) I wish I
had a lab to test on percentage of THC.
It is not completely perfect yet, as this strain turns quickly to
hermaphrodite under a stress environment (hey I'm just a computer nead, no
professional breeder so I probaly screwed up somewhere). But if you take
good care of the girls they produce a quality sinsemilla bud with a nice
soft taste and clear high.
>> How was it grown?
Soil outdoor (We have the whole year sun on this Island, and have about 14
days with rain a year). We don't have any season here, year in year out the
same weather (sun, sun, sun and sun)
Just sorry that you can't taste it yourself, unless your planning a vacation to the Caribbean, then you are always welcome in my garden/home.
Take care and keep up the good work on your page
